I had an extraordinary vacation, spending time with, among others, Marc, Suzanne, and their daughter Zo\u00e9. We shared the same table during our tourist visits to Toulon, Monaco, Nice, Rome, Florence, Pisa… mamma mia!<\/p>\n

Recently, Suzanne’s father bought a brand-new Yamaha grand piano equipped with a Disklavier<\/a> system, a modern version of a player piano. It’s a real acoustic piano fitted with highly sensitive sensors and an electro-mechanical system to activate the keys. You can record yourself playing or have it play professional recordings. It’s quite magical.<\/p>\n

Excited to show off his new purchase, he invited them over for dinner, with the piano providing background music.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, as sophisticated as this system is, it doesn’t allow for volume adjustment as much as one could do with a sound system. As ambient music, people found it played too loudly.<\/p>\n

What a disappointment!<\/p>\n

However, there is a solution: the grand piano mute proposed by the inventor Steven James<\/a>, which has recently become available. It allows you to play yourself without disturbing the neighbors or to let the Disklavier or Pianodisc piano play without overwhelming the sonic space for the comfort of our guests.<\/p>\n

Who will own the fourth piano in Canada equipped with this system? I’ve installed three of them in the past year, and the clients are entirely satisfied.
